What Does Delisted Mean?

A delisted game is no longer sold digitally — pulled from storefronts, often for good.

Definition

Delisted means removed from digital stores (e.g. PlayStation Store, Xbox, Steam, eShop) so you can't buy a new license the usual way. It's not the same as a temporary sale ending — it's availability gone.

Common reasons

  • Licensing expiry — music, brand, or IP rights ended.
  • Publisher decision — removal from rotation or catalog cleanup.
  • Platform shutdown — store closure for older hardware.

Notable examples

Metal Gear Solid 4 (PS3-era digital availability), Scott Pilgrim (returned and removed again), P.T. (delisted demo), Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 (temporarily delisted during a licensing gap — status can change). Browse Metal Gear for MGS4 context and physical notes.

Impact on physical prices

When digital goes away, physical CIB demand often rises — especially for games that were never cheap on disc. We track delisted rows on franchise pages.
