Insomniac Games
Insomniac Games is a California developer founded in 1994 and absorbed into PlayStation Studios in 2019. The house style leans colorful, joke-heavy, and technically polished — whether the project is a PlayStation mascot platformer or a licensed superhero blockbuster.
Three eras stand out on Sony hardware: the PS1 Spyro trilogy gave the publisher a family-friendly dragon counterpart to other platformer mascots; Ratchet & Clank iterated on inventive weapons across PS2–PS5; and the studio’s Marvel-licensed Spider-Man games on PS4/PS5 pushed animation fidelity and traversal speed for mainstream audiences. GameOrder currently catalogs Spyro and Ratchet here; Spider-Man lists live wherever we add that franchise slug separately.
